The Modi government preferred to woo voters in its last budget keeping in mind the coming general election. AP CM Chandrababu Naidu took objection to the Centre not giving any priority to the unjustly divided AP in its budget. There are many issues still remaining unresolved after five years of unjust bifurcation. Many promised were made regarding special status and all but nothing has taken a concrete shape till now.
Naidu thanked all the people’s organisations and political parties who made yesterday’s bandh a success in AP state. The bandh was organised with clear focus to get a better deal for the state while some parties were not cooperating in this regard by creating hurdles for the same.
CBN questioned the wisdom of giving rebate to holders of income below Rs. 5 lakh when the Modi government has considered those below Rs. 8 lakh income bracket eligible for economically backward reservations in upper castes. Naidu said there are many issues still to be solved and the Centre has not cleared arrears for employment guarantee scheme works.
