Four senior sitting MLAs in Andhra Pradesh may not contest in the forthcoming elections. The last session of AP Assembly was concluded on Friday and this triggered an interesting topic of discussion as if how many of those present on the day would be back to Assembly in the second term of AP Assembly.
It’s expected to be four MLAs, who are opting to drop out from the fray. The four MLAs are Kamineni Srinivas, Srikalahasti MLA Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy, deputy CM KE Krishnamurthy and minister Adinarayana Reddy.
Kamineni Srinivas, BJP MLA from Kaikaluru, on Friday already announced in the Assembly that he wouldn’t contest in the next elections. KE Krishnamurthy owing to old age and ill-health has decided not to contest. Instead, KE wants to field his son Shyam.
Adinarayana Reddy as part of an internal adjustment may contest from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency. Bojjala is unwell and wants to keep himself away from active politics. Bojjala is expecting ticket for his son Sudhir Reddy.
Other three MLAs have resigned and want to contest again in the next elections. Meda Mallikarjuna Reddy will contest on YSRCP ticket and Ravela Kishore Babu on Jana Sena ticket, while Akula Satyanarayana may contest as MP candidate on BJP ticket.
Three more MLAs — Bhuma Nagi Reddy (Nandhyala), Tangirala Prabhakara Rao (Nandigama) and Kidari Sarveshwara Rao (Araku)– passed away.
