Hyderabad: Telugu cine hero and Hindupur sitting MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna will again contest from his home constituency. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has finalised nine candidates for Assembly constituencies out of 14 MLA seats in Anantapur, while decision on five constituencies is put on hold. Naidu has gave a green signal to an appeal made by JC Diwakar Reddy to field his son Pawankumar Reddy in Anantapur Lok Sabha constituency. Tadipatri MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy’s request has also been approved by Naidu as he okayed Assembly ticket to his son Asmith Reddy from same constituency.
TDP Ministers — Paritala Sunita and Kaluva Srinivasulu– have retained tickets for Rapthadu and Rayadurgam constituencies respectively.
The TDP chief has accommodated sitting MLAs as many as possible and considered the feedback and opinions of the sittings. District in-charge Devineni Umamaheshwara Rao and minister Jawahar reviewed the Assembly constituency-wise situation. Since TDP MLA Balakrishna is on Hindupur tour, the review meeting didn’t discuss on this. Sitting MLAs have unanimously been approved for the next election. However, remaining seven constituencies, party cadres and local leaders raised voice against few candidates.
SR Constructions chief Amilineni Surendra babu has requested Naidu to consider his name for Puttaparti Assembly constituency. Madhusudhan Gupta, former MLA from Gunthakal, has joined TDP in the presence of Naidu.
