The latest rumour is that it’s no longer Prashant Kishor who is deciding the fates of ticket aspirants in the YCP. The KCR election advisers team has taken over the selection of candidates for YCP. They say their model has worked miracles in Telangana 2018 election and Jagan has simply handed over this task to the KCR team while PK team will just provide additional information to them.
This sudden trend is sending shivers down the line in YCP leaders. Everybody knows how KCR changes his plans and decides the fates of his party leaders as per his changing wishes. But that could be possible for him as he has the advantage of having a near patent on the Telangana sentiment and the second rung leaders there are more or less easy to tackle.
It’s an altogether different game in Andhra where the leaders at different levels tend to be independent and competitive. Authoritarian style is not easy in Andhra and the people are dynamic and politically sensitive. Now the YCP leaders are worried a lot that the KCR team experiment may boomerang on Jagan.
