Hyderabad: Former TDP MP and senior leader in Khammam has joined Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the presence of pink party working president KT Rama Rao. Along with Nama, other TDP leaders — TDP state vice-president Swarnakumari, Amarnath, Khammam district president Brahmaiah, Khammam Telugu Yuvatha president Harikrishna and Mancherial district president Sharath Babu — also joined TRS.
“I was the first person to cast first vote for Telangana Bill in the Parliament. I work for strengthening TRS in Khammam district. With an objective of development in Telangana, I have decided to join TRS. I along with my supporters and party cadres will work under KCR leadership,” said Nama.
On the other side, former MLA from Shadnagar Pratap Reddy is expected to join TRS. Reddy already met KTR and discussed on his future course of action. Pratap Reddy won on Congress ticket in 2009 election and lost to TRS candidate Anjaiah Yadav in 2014 elections. This was repeated for Reddy in 2018 elections as well.
It may be recalled that Congress MLA from Kollapur constituency in Nagarkurnool district has already announced his intention to join TRS. He cited the reason for joining TRS to development works. Reddy further clarified that he’s ready to resign as MLA and will contest on TRS ticket. Harshavardhan Reddy lost to TRS candidate Jupalli Krishna Rao in 2014 elections, but won in 2018 elections.
