As the electioneering reaches a peak, the rival parties focus more energies on star campaigners. This is very crucial for any party to attract maximum attention from different sections of voters. TDP is making sure that national leaders take part in campaigning on behalf of its candidates in different areas. Their strategy is to use anti-BJP leaders’ influence in border areas of AP with neighbouring states as well.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will campaign for TDP in Visakhapatnam and North Coastal Andhra where Bengalee communities are present in significant numbers. Delhi CM Aravind Kejriwal is arriving to Vijayawada to address and influence educated sections in Central Coastal Andhra. Jammu and Kashmir senior leader Farooq Abdullah is already campaigning Kurnool and Kadapa districts where Muslim voters play a crucial role.
On its part, the YCP is struggling to get star campaigners from outside. Sharmila is campaigning in select segments but in a limited way. TDP mockingly says while their party has national leaders as star campaigners, the YCP has got those with dubious background like Mohan Babu, Kona Venkat, etc.
