Pawan Kalyan, as part of campaigning, spoke in a public meeting in Anantapur district and revealed the reason for not contesting from Anantapur. It is known news that Pawan earlier told he will contest from Anantapur. However, finally, he chose Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram constituencies. Opponent parties questioned why Pawan is not contesting from Rayalaseema area. Pawan explained the reasons today.
Before that Pawan told, he will develop Anantapur district in all spheres including agriculture. He told that many countries that have even severe drought conditions than Anantapur district are making good progress in Agriculture using technology and he will ensure such technology will be available to Anantapur as well. He also spoke about the technologies that will ensure good produce with very little moisture. Later he told that he actually wanted to contest from Anantapur and he knows he has very good support from the people here and there are many janasainiks here. But, he added, poll management needs good 2nd grade leaders as well, which is lacking at Anantapur. He explained that, even though many people are ready to vote for Janasena, middle level leadership is needed to maximize the results but here middle level leaders are scared of other political parties. He made similar comments during his Kadapa visit also and told that political leadership in Rayalaseema is confined to a few families that are dictating terms and middle level leaders, as well as people are scared of those leaders.
So, he told, in the absence of such middle level leadership, he will have to put too many efforts in this single constituency and that may hamper the prospects of the party across the state. People seem to have got convinced with his explanation
