Former Congress minister and senior leader in undivided Mahbubnagar district DK Aruna came down heavily on Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for keeping south Telangana on the back burner in budget allocations and development works. For instance, Palamuru-Rangareddy, Pranhita-Chevella projects were kept aside, while speeding up the Kaleshwaram project, observes Aruna.
“I am fighting against the discrimination against south Telangana. For the development of the southern part of the state, I have decided to join BJP as Prime Minister Narendra Modi can deliver the goods with a strong will,” maintained Aruna.
DK Aruna won from Gadwal Assembly constituency in 2004, 2009 and 2014 elections. After losing in Assembly elections in December 2018, Aruna recently joined BJP and contesting as MP candidate from Mahbubnagar constituency. Sitting MP Jithender Reddy, who defeated Jaipal Reddy of Congress by a marginal difference of 2,000 votes, resigned from TRS as he was denied ticket this time, and joined BJP. This has brightened prospects for Aruna.
TRS has fielded Manne Srinivas Reddy, a new candidate for Mahbubnagar MP seat, while Ch Vamdhichand Reddy is in the fray on Congress ticket.
Aruna further found the fault with KCR for not getting railway project for Mahbubnagar. Since new candidate from TRS and weak candidate from Congress, Aruna is confident of winning Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha seat as joining of Jitender Reddy has further strengthened the prospects for BJP.
