The stand-off between the Election Commission of India and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is still continuing. The EC has not yet conveyed its decision to the AP Government whether it is permitting the Cabinet meet tomorrow or not. Amid this tension, Chief Secretary LV Subrahmanyam met with Chandrababu Naidu and discussed what to do if there’s no EC approval.
In all likelihood, Chandrababu may hold a review meeting with the district officials tomorrow on the heat wave conditions and drinking water problems in the villages. Already, there’s not much time to invite all the ministers to the Cabinet meeting if the permission comes at the eleventh hour. The EC is refusing to give nod for most of Chandrababu’s requests from the beginning in the name of the election code. TDP has blamed EC for acting like a puppet in the hands of BJP and YCP.
