In Tamil Nadu, Sasikala was elected as AIADMK legislative party leader. But the then Governor refused to administer the oath of office to her saying that she was in jail for 15 months. Her appeal is pending in Supreme Court and until the disposal of SC case, her appointment as CM was stalled by the central government.
Interestingly, a similar situation is prevailing in AP in which 31 cases are pending in the ACB/CBI court in Hyderabad against CM-elect Jaganmohan Reddy and in same manner he had spent 16 months in Jail, and attending court on every Friday.
The BJP Government at the Centre had indirectly stalled the appointment of Sasikala as CM earlier. The same BJP is giving a royal treatment to Jagan. He was given 90-minutes warm interview by the PM-elect Modi, raising none of the court issues clearly demonstrating double standards. A PIL is being filed in Supreme Court in this regard, and a Lunch Motion is being moved tomorrow in Supreme Court. Will Jagan overcome this crisis?
