YS Jaganmohan Reddy became a chief minister at a relatively very young age. So, there’s a lot of attention to what impact he is going to create at his first Cabinet meeting. He has been asserting repeatedly that he will implement election promises totally and treat the YCP manifesto as the holy book.
Jagan is expected to approve 27 per cent Interim relief for the employees. It means an additional financial burden on the state as the salaries will go up by 27 per cent. He has also promised to merge the RTC with the government. The earlier TDP government has said that it is very impossible to do this as the existing procedures will not allow this.
Jagan has also promised a hike in salaries of home guards and sanitary workers. There’s talk that Jaganmohan Reddy is strongly in favour of such populist policies despite the present financial problems in the state.
