With all humility, CM Jaganmohan Reddy is bringing forth special status as a humble request and not as a demand before the Modi government at the Centre. He is making this request once again at the Niti Ayog policy making meeting. But several times already, the Central government as well as the BJP leaders have spoken clearly how and why special status is a closed chapter in the entire country now.
Jagan is not at all talking about special package. Whereas the BJP leaders are only talking about package but in a different way. They are saying that the Centre will extend all support for the overall development of Andhra Pradesh. This is nothing but the special package that they offered in the previous government which was duly accepted by Chandrababu Naidu.
For political reasons, Jagan will not openly accept package just because he openly opposed this when there was the TDP government. It is clear now Jagan will go on making his humble plea till it softens the heart of Prime Minister. But analysts say that ultimately Jagan will have no option but to accept special package in a different format. This time it is going to be special support or hand-holding from the Centre.
