Allagadda MLA Akhila Priya alleged that state police had highhandedly foisted false case on her father Bhuma Nagi Reddy and were denying him appropriate medical care.
Bhuma Nagi Reddy was arrested on charges of abusing the police officials who were on election duty. Court ordered him 14-day judicial custody in Allagadda, Kurnool district.
According to Akhila Priya her father is on hunger strike in the jail in protest against the injustice being meted out to him.
“if anything should happen to him, the State has to be blamed,” she warned.
“The Government is using police to target my father and is always on the lookout to foist cases on him and he is now denied permission to be shifted to NIMS, Hyderabad. Should anything happen to him I will hold the Government responsible,” she told media on Saturday.
She alleged that a case under SC, ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act had been booked on the dictates of the Chief Minister’s Office.
“When arrested last time, he was shifted from Nandyal hospital to Kurnool and from there to NIMS by the same TDP government. But, this time they are denying him proper medical care,” she said.
Stating that the collector had sent a three-member medical team to examine her father’s health condition to take a decision on shifting him to NIMS, the youngest MLA in Assembly said there was no need for all that as the medical history of Reddy was readily available.
