The BJP government presented its first Union Budget in its second innings in power at the Centre. PM Modi has described it as a strong step to achieve the Navabharat Nirman. This has been the slogan being promoted by Modi immediately after winning the 2019 election. He is already talking in terms of preparing himself and his party for the next election. It confirms the speculation that Modi has begun laying foundations for the BJP victory in the 2022 Jamili One Nation One Election.
The Prime Minister strongly defended the Budget saying that it is pro-poor and will facilitate quality living standards among different sections of people. It has special provisions to strengthen the education sector. Modi said that special programmes are brought in to support the farmers. Analysts say that the hike in gold rates in the present budget is an indication of the BJP’s early preparation for 2022 polls.
