CM Jaganmohan Reddy has not so far explained to the people of Andhra why World Bank dropped its loan to the dream capital city of Amaravati. Even his Principal Advisor Ajay Kallam Reddy didn’t respond. But the Sakshi newspaper has published a big story telling all and utter lies to blame Chandrababu Naidu for the World Bank’s withdrawal. The YCP mouthpiece says that the bank team was unhappy over the tenders called by Naidu government even before the final approval for Amaravati road works. Sakshi also writes that the World Bank officials are greatly impressed with the future vision and policies of CM Jaganmohan Reddy to improve living standards of AP people.
The ruling party paper says that the World Bank has informed the Jagan Reddy government that it would give Rs 2100 Cr loan to some other project in AP but not Amaravati. The bank is also said to be interested in supporting the Navaratnalu programme of Jagan. But the paper has not published any document sent by World Bank to AP government as proof of its story of falsehoods. Sakshi’s bold writings to save the face of the ruling party is seen as a sign of panic and frustration in the Jagan regime. The paper should have presented facts of why the government is not interested in Amaravati.
