For the first time after state separation, the residual Andhra Pradesh state is going to have its own independent and resident Governor. Viswabhushan Harichandan is to be sworn-in at a function to be held at Raj Bhavan in Amaravati Capital City today. AP High Court Acting Chief Justice C. Praveen Kumar will administer the oath of office to the Governor. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the swearing-in. Invitations were sent to over 461 VIPs across the state.
Governor and his wife Suprabha Harichandan have arrived yesterday. They were accorded grand reception by Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Judges, Ministers and senior officials. The entry into the Raj Bhavan was strictly restricted. Battery cars are being used to take the VIPs to the venue. Nearly, 1000 police force is engaged to provide bandobast for the grand event. Traffic regulations and diversions are being enforced in Vijayawada city.
