Prabhas’ starrer Saaho is going to be a huge loss venture for its buyers in USA. By the end of the second weekend, the action saga managed to surpass the $ 3M mark in USA, but it is heading towards becoming a colossal disaster because the recovery is less than 50 percent of its investment.
After taking a moderate start with disappointing premiers, the film failed to add strong numbers in the weekend and had an average first week as it managed only to notch up $ 2.87 M. Saaho needed a decent second weekend to minimise the losses for its buyers. But, the meagre footfalls in the second weekend have dented the hopes of buyers and they are now staring at huge losses. The film collected $ 55K and $ 96K on Friday and Saturday to surpass the $ 3M mark. The breakeven mark in USA is $ 6.5 M and the Tamil version hardly contributed to the tally.
Prabhas’ previous films Baahubali 2 and Baahubali 1 were blockbuster hits in overseas. So, Saaho was sold for huge prices in all territories. But, the disappointing reviews and poor word of mouth have impacted the collections largely as it failed to perform on par with the high expectations.
