Veteran Telugu actress Geethanjali passed away during the early hours of today in Hyderabad. She suffered a massive heart attack after which Geethanjali was rushed to a private hospital in Filmnagar. Geethanjali has done over 100 films in her career in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Kannada languages. After she made her debut in Hindi with Paying Guest, Geethanjali worked with all the leading Telugu actors of her generation.

She got married to actor Ramakrishna and the duo has a son Adith Srinivas who tested his luck as an actor with Bhuma. Geethanjali also served as a member of Nandi Award committee. Some of her best works include Seetarama Kalyanam, Dr Chakravarthy, Leta Manasulu, Bobbili Yuddham, Devata, Leta Manasulu, Gudachari 116 and Sambarala Rambabu. Her last rites will be performed this evening. Rest in Peace Geethanjali garu.
