Megastar Chiranjeevi attended ANR National Awards Event as special guest that took place last night in Hyderabad. Megastar started off his speech with an incident that took place six decades ago. “A pregnant lady who is yet to deliver a baby wanted to watch ANR’s film. Her husband was worried as they did not have proper transportation facilities. When they were on their way, the couple met with an accident but the pregnant lady wanted to watch the film at any cost”.
“The incident took place in 1955 and the couple are none other than my parents Venkat Rao and Anjana Devi. They watched Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s ‘Rojulu Maaraayi’ and my mother is a diehard fan of ANR. I was the baby in her womb that day” said Megastar emotionally. Along with these, Chiranjeevi revealed about his bonding with ANR during the shoot of Mechanic Alludu. Chiranjeevi presented ANR National Award to legendary actress Sridevi who passed away. Her husband Boney Kapoor received the award on her behalf.
