The Survey of India released a new map of India in which Amaravati is marked as the Capital City of Andhra Pradesh. This happened following order’s from the Union Home Ministry. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kishan Reddy took up the issue with Amit Shah and others. Immediately, the omission of Amaravati in the previous map was rectified.
The inclusion of Amaravati was made after TDP MP Galla Jayadev raised the issue in the Lok Sabha yesterday. Jayadev stressed the need for recognising Amaravati as the AP Capital by mentioning it in the map. Jayadev pointed out that PM Narendra Modi himself arrived and laid the foundation stone for Amaravati. The BJP also took serious note of the Jagan Reddy government efforts to shift Capital out of Amaravati. With the new map recognising Amaravati, there’s no more any scope for Jagan Circar to shift Capital City.
