Veteran actor and writer Gollapudi Maruthi Rao passed away today in a private hospital in Chennai. He acted in over 250 films in various languages in his career. After starting his career as a theatre artist, Gollapudi Maruthi Rao worked for several films and penned several plays. He is the recipient of six Nandi Awards presented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Born on April 14th 1939, he worked as an actor for over 40 years.
