The first term of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao witnessed all-round celebrations of Telangana people under the common government sponsored ‘Sambaralu’. These celebrations were held in foreign countries as well. That cheerful atmosphere is visibly missing in KCR 2.0 Rule. KCR, KTR and even Kavita are not talking about the celebrations any more. Rival parties are surprised whether KCR has realised that he can no longer benefit big time from the Telangana sentiment in the name of ‘Sambaralu’. It is no use wasting time and energy on this. At the same time, the Modi-Shah focus on Telangana has become a greater challenge for KCR than all other opposition parties put together.
PM Modi especially tightened the funds flow to Telangana government. Even the regular allocations are being cut in the name of queries. This has left KCR struggling with funds to effectively implement his welfare programmes like Rythu Bandhu. His ambitious irrigation projects like Mission Bhagiratha are also hit badly. The funds crunch and financial crisis have come at a very bad time. The second term is putting lot of pressure on KCR to perform well. But the political situation in the face of a tough Centre is not allowing KCR to deliver services to the people. Naturally, the BJP is moving fast to take political advantage while KCR is struggling to show better performance against rising odds and threatening enemies.
