There has been a huge slump in Tollywood for films that features fresh faces. The audience are not in a mood to rush to theatres to watch small budget films. When it comes to the holiday season, there would be no chance for a small budget film to release. Hence, several producers are in a mad rush to rope in young actors for their projects as they are quite desperate of making movies.

Actors like Nithiin haven’t tasted success in the recent years and his market tumbled down. But the actor is reportedly paid Rs 6 crores per film and he has 6-7 films lined up. Same is the case with Sharwanand. The actor’s last film Ranarangam struggled to touch Rs 10 crore mark in its theatrical run and the previous film Padi Padi Leche Manasu incurred huge losses. But he is getting a fat pay cheque of Rs 6-7 crores per film. Without even calculating the theatrical and non-theatrical market of the actors, several filmmakers are in a rush.

Taking this as an advantage, actors are quoting huge remunerations. These calculations come to the mind of the producers before the film’s release and then the real damage happens. There should be a strict budget discussion between the team once the project gets locked. Actors too should come out and share the profits instead of charging huge to save the producers of Telugu cinema.
