The Warangal win is being seen by many TRS leaders as the boon from the proposed Ayuta Chandi Yagam and they believe that the Goddess is showering blessings on chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. A TRS leader, talking to this correspondent asserted that the win could not have been possible without the blessings from the Goddess. KCR is performing Ayuta Maha Chandi Yagam in the last week of December 2015 and this vow had given him energies to weather an unprecedented hostile atmosphere, the opposition parties created, against the government, he said.
” The party which fared poorly in MLC elections has won the Warangal byelection with such a huge margin which even KCR himself did not expect.” he averred. The TRS leaders believe that the win had coincided with the preparations by the chief minister for the massive Yagam, which will be performed from December 23 to 27. This is KCR’s thanksgiving gesture to Goddess Chandi for granting his wish ie separate state of Telangana. Nearly 30 acres of land in his farm-house near Erravalli, Medak district is being leveled for the purpose. Daily 30,000 visitors are expected to witness the Yagam. Traditional Prasadam will be served to all the visitors. The CM has already invited President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Modi, his counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu to the Yagam. Many more CMs are expected to attend the holy Yagam, party sources said.
A strong believer in supernatural powers, KCR has been performing the Yagams for five years. But, this time, having achieved the separate Telangana state, he is said to have vowed to perform this Ayuta Maha Chandi Yagam, in which 5500 of Ritviks and Veda Pundits chant in unison Durga Saptasati 10, 000 times (Ayuta=10,000 in Sanskrit). The mantrochhatana will reverberate the place all through the Yagakaalam. The Veda Pundits recite the Mantram 2000 times a day to achieve the 10,000 target during the five day period. The pundits are being invited from four states. The TRS functionary said Rao had performed five Chandi Yagams earlier. Current Yagam is sixth in series. “The Yagam requires about 10 quintals of cow ghee every day. About 10 tonnes of Moduga Chekka is needed, to be used as firewood . The total cost would be around Rs 3 crore,” he said.
Addressing the press conference immediately after the spectacular win of the Warangal byelction, chief minister KCR asserted that not a single paisa would be drawn from the government for the Yagam. He dismissed the charges of misuse of power leveled leaders such as CPI national secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy. As a preparatory, on Friday, KCR and his wife Shobha performed Bhumipuja for the yagam. KCR couple performed Navagraha Chandiyagam and spend about four hours overseeing arrangements such construction of Yagasala that began after the Yagam.
