Appreciating the services of a team of UK-pediatric Cardiologists in India, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu invited them to set up Pediatric Cardiology surgery hospitals in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati. The CM assured all cooperation from the state government.
The doctors, who have been working in India with movie star Samanta’s trust, chose Andhra Pradesh to extend their services. They found that children suffering from cardiovascular problems were on higher side in Andhra Pradesh. They informed the chief minister that they wanted to extend their services to Andhra Pradesh because the children here needed special attention. They assured the chief minister that their team would conduct surgeries free of cost.
Expressing rejoice at the teams decision to extend their services to Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister briefed them about the government’s action plan on improving infrastructure, health indicators like IMR and MMR and pediatric healthcare services in the state. Furthermore, he stressed on the need for adequate medical services for infants and children.
The team consisted of Phil Knight, Dr. Zoha Mohamed, Nina Hall, Dr. Phil Arnold, Fiona Wood, Maria-N-Tala, Guido Oppido, Dr. VikramKudumula, Dr. RamanaDhannapuneni, Dr. SanjivNichani and Dr. Lesley Mistry. Health minister Kamineni Srinivas, AP Medical Council Chairman Dr Y. Raja Rao, Andhra Hospitals MD Dr. P.V. Ramana Murthy and Chief of Cardiac Surgeries Dr. P.V. Rama Rao were also present in the meeting.
