Kalavedika, a US based non-profitorganization dedicated to the promotion of Indian arts and culture launched a new chapter called “Balu Swarajhari” on the eve of legend Dr. SP. Balasubrahmanyam’s birth anniversary on June 4, 2021 in New Jersey, USA.
The inauguration took place at Sri Venkateshwara Temple at Bridgewater, NJ in the presence of music director Koti, Sterley S. Stanley (Member of the New Jersey General Assembly), Upendra Chivukula (Commissioner, New Jersey Board of Public Utilities), representatives from Telugu Association of North America (TANA), American Telugu Association (ATA), North America Telugu Society (NATS), Telangana America Telugu Association (TATA), Telugu Fine Arts Society (TFAS) and Telugu Literary and Cultural Association (TLCA).
Speaking on the occasion, founder and president Swathi Atluri explained the objective of Balu Swarajhari was to fulfil Dr. SP Balasubrahmanyam’s vision of creating a global platform where artists can elevate their talents to reach greater heights. The organization would work cohesively with SPB foundation managed by SP Charan in support of several noble activities.
Music director Koti became emotional talking about his journey with SPB.
The singer-music director duo worked together for over 2,000 songs. Later, Koti enthralled the audience singing hit numbers of SPB.
Playback singer Usha paid rich tributes to SPB referring to him as a “father figure and guru” who helped her learn the ropes in playback singing. Usha will also be serving as a secretary for this organization.
SP Charan, SP Sailaja and Harish Shankar will serve as honorary advisors. This chapter will also have eminent personalities on the advisory board.
Several celebrities including legendary director K. Viswanath, Devi Sri Prasad, Anup Rubens and several Tollywood singers conveyed their best wishes to the team.
