AP CM announces Rs 10 Cr to the flood victims of Chennai, and appeals to people, NGO’s and others to liberally contribute to extend help to Tamilanadu. Meanwhile, Tamilanadu Government on Wednesday made an appeal from the states, individuals and other to extend their help.
Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naiidu has announced a donation of Rs 10 Cr for Tamilanadu flood victims. He also made an appeal to the individuals, NGOs, and others to come forward to extend a helping hand to people of Chennai and other parts of Tamilanadu who had lost everything due to recent heavy rains resulting in floods causing extensive damage, loss of life and property. Earlier, following a request from the Tamilanadu government, the state civil supplies department had augmented rice and yellow gram in huge quantities and dispatched the same to Chennai.
Meanwhile, the Tamilanadu government on Wednesday made an open appeal to the people to come forward to contribute essential commodities and other contributions. People who wanted to voluntarily donate essential commodities could handover the same at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. And, the government said that at present it is trying to provide essential commodities to the flood affected people in Chennai and other parts of Tamilanadu. The appeal asked the other States in the country, NGO’s, individuals to liberally contribute to the flood victims. Apart from extensive damage, so far 245 people had lost their lives in the rains and floods that devastated, the appeal said.
