Call it a coincidence or a competition for the two genius storytellers – SS Rajamouli and Shankar, the regular shooting of the sequels to Baahubali and Robot will roll out in Hyderabad and Chennai from today morning.

Baahubali : The Beginning, India’s biggest motion picture, showcased the stamina of Telugu cinema to the entire world and placed SS Rajamouli on international pedestal. Starring an ensemble cast, the story revolves around two brothers who fight for supremacy of the visionary kingdom Mahishmati. The film went on to collect more than 500 Crores at the ticket windows and it remains as one of the top grossing Indian films till date. Baahubali : The conclusion is likely to garner more buzz around the world. Arka Media Works is the production house behind this high budget extravaganza. The first schedule will roll out in Ramoji Film City i n Hyderabad from today.

On the other side, if there is any other South Indian film that is going to generate a similar buzz like Baahubali among the audience and the industry circles, that is undoubtedly midas touch hit-maker Shankar’s Robot 2.0 which stars Superstar Rajinikanth in the lead. The film, a sequel to the 2010 blockbusting science fiction visual thriller, will go on floors today in a massive set that was erected in Chennai. The first part grossed stupendous collections all over the world and Shankar is now planning to make it bigger with the sequel. The pre production has been wrapped up and Amy Jackson will play the female lead in the film. It is learnt that she will be seen as a Robot in the film. Lyca International will pool in money for this film which is touted to be the most expensive film on Indian screen.

Both these films are aiming for an early 2017 release. It would be interesting to see how many more records will these two visual wonders create at the box office in the coming days.
