BJP AP unit president Daggubati Purandheswari made a hard-hitting comment against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday. Addressing the party workers at Kakinada on the day, Purandheswari asked them whether the Andhra Pradesh people would require a chief minister who moves behind the curtains.
She alleged that the chief minister was going around in the state behind the curtains. She wondered why people would need such a chief minister. She asked the rank and file of the party to defeat the chief minister in the coming elections.
She also alleged that the chief minister was targeting his critics, particularly those from the opposition parties. She wondered how the opposition leaders would praise him and not criticise him. She said that the government was booking false cases against the opposition leaders for criticising the chief minister.
She alleged that the government was selling cheap liquor to the people and making money. Most part of the money earned through the sale of liquor was going into the pockets of the ruling party leaders, she said. She wanted an account for the liquor sales and blamed the government for not maintaining proper accounts.
She also blamed the government for the sale of sand in the state. Even sand has no accountability, she alleged and said that the ruling party leaders were making huge money out of it. She wanted regulation of the liquor and sand sales in the state.
Referring to the alliance with the Jana Sena, Purandheswari said that the BJP is still in alliance with the Jana Sena. She said that the Jana Sena did not break up its alliance with the BJP. However, when asked about the alliance with the TDP, she said that the issue would be decided by the party high command.
She also said that she had not asked the party for the ticket from any place yet. She said that she would contest wherever the party wanted her to contest. “My contest would be decided by the party high command,” she said.
