Director Prasanth Varma who was hectic with the post-production works of his film Hanu-Man with Teja Sajja is now occupied with promotional activities. The director took part in a chit-chat session with us where he shared many things about the movie, release, and all.
Prasanth Varma says the success of Zombie Reddy gave him the confidence to make a superhero movie. “Zombie Reddy was received well, so I got the confidence to make a superhero film. Niranjan Reddy is one of the best things that happened in my life. He gave me complete freedom. I worried sometimes about the budget, but he never bothered about it. He was so confident that he wanted to release the movie globally in other foreign languages. Fortunately, after the teaser was released, we got offers from distributors in foreign countries. Local is the new global now. The audience in other languages wants to know more about Itihasas of India.”
The director avowed that they couldn’t change the release date because of the agreements they had made for the Hindi release. “The Hindi buyers invested so much in the movie and they are planning to release it in 1200 theatres. So, we can’t lose 1200 theatres for a mere 50 theatres in Telugu.”
Prasanth says he likes socio-fantasy films from the beginning. “Hanu-Man in a way is also a socio-fantasy film.” The director appreciated Teja Sajja. “He has done so well that you won’t imagine any actor other than him, after watching the film. He did the role with such conviction.”
The director revealed his next line-up of films. “I have multiple plans. But I will decide on my next, after the release of Hanu-Man. I’ve plans to make a sequel- Hanu-Man 2. I have Adheera. There is a superwoman movie also in the pipeline. Awe 2 script is also ready, but it needs a mad producer.”
The film Hanu-Man is due for release on the 12th of this month.
