The Ruling TDP learnt to have decided to spin the same strategy that it had adopted on Call Money issue in the state assembly against the YSRCP. It wanted to fix the YSRCP to choose whether it wanted to fight against the bauxite mining, or for the sake of its own party’s MLA, to corner the main opposition party in the state assembly on Monday.
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party learnt to have decided to spin the same strategy that it had adopted on Call Money issue against the YSRCP in state assembly on Monday. According to party sources, the main opposition indeed has created much tension in the ruling party when it had taken up the issue of Call Money, to corner the government on the floor of the house. “We thought that the main opposition has with it certain strong evidence to incriminate leaders, or some one belonging to TDP in the Call Money Scandal.” It was against this back drop, that the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has cancelled his pre scheduled programmes, and attended the Assembly that went on till late into the evening. The CM’s decision to personally present in the house was, to handle any kind of situation that might arise. Reason for such thinking was that if the YSRCP presents any evidence that could prove fatal to the ruling party government, the CM would jump into the ring and do the damage control act.
But, at the end of the day, the government and the party leadership had felt relieved, as the main opposition party does not have any evidence, that could pose a problem to the government as well as to the party.
“It seems that the Leader of the Opposition (LOP) had tried to corner the government with his oratory skills, a few newspaper clippings and photographs. This has given a great relief to the government that it will face no problem. So, it had stepped up its offence against the YSRCP and could successfully corner it, using every short coming on the part of that party during the discussion on the Call Money issue.
On Monday, the government wanted to bring for discussion on the mining of bauxite in Visakhapatnam forest areas. Because, the issue was one among those that the YSRCP had proposed and agreed upon in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting. The YSRCP too had made it a big issue going to people. It had also held a public meeting in the Paderu agency area in Visakhapatnam, an assured to the tribal people there that it would stand solid rock behind them in their fight against the mining of bauxite.
Now, the government wanted to bring the issue for discussion. This is at a time when the YSRCP has decided to continue its fight through out the session until the one year suspension against its MLA Roja revoked.
As such, now the YSRCP has to decided on the floor of the house that, whether it wanted to take part in the discussion on the bauxite issue, or, fight for its own MLA.
If “the main opposition fails to take part in the discussion then the TDP wanted to corner it on that count. If it fails to fight for the cause of its own MLA, then politically it would be exposed as a weak opposition. on the top of it, if the YSRCP wanted to continue its fight for the revocation then it would certainly send a wrong message that it is more interested in the cause of its party’s MLA than the cause of tribal and in its opposition against the bauxite mining, pointed out a party source.
Binding the YSRCP in this fix , the TDP wanted to corner and expose the main opposition party in the assembly that it’s promise, to fight for the cause of tribal and to stand against the bauxite mining is only to get political mileage vis-a-vis the TDP.
