Several star kids of actors are choosing to take up creative crafts in the field of cinema. Suriya and Jyotika’s daughter Diya made a student documentary on the discrimination faced by female gaffers in the entertainment industry. Titled ‘Leading Light: The Untold Stories of Women Behind the Scenes’, the student documentary won two awards at the ‘Triloka International Filmfare Awards. Diya Suriya has been awarded with the Best Screenwriter and Leading Light: The Untold Stories of Women Behind the Scenes also won the Best Student Short Film award.

Jyotika took her social media page to share the news along with the pictures. “Proud of you Diya for making such a meaningful student documentary on the discrimination faced by female gaffers in the entertainment industry. Keep it up and thank you for throwing light on this underlying issue” posted Jyotika. She also shared the link of the short film. Suriya is quite busy with Kanguva that is slated for November 14th release. Jyotika is selective as an actress and she is quite busy as a producer currently.
