First half is terrible,
Second half has some heavy dose sentiment message capsuled in a convoluted story.
The film "SWAG" focuses on the challenges of growing up as a transgender, conveying a compassionate message that society must offer support and understanding to transgender people and their emotions.
Hero Sri Vishnu delivered very good performance as a transgender character, and his efforts deserve recognition. However, his portrayal of the three other characters and the numerous getups across different timelines were quite frustrating. His dubbing for these roles was particularly disappointing.
Director Hasith Goli attempted to convey a message through an unconventional story and screenplay, but unfortunately, it fell flat and mostly irritating. Entire Swaganika Vamsam line of story is pure trash. If they had opted for a more serious tone to match the gravity of the central character, the film could have earned critical acclaim. Instead, it ended up feeling like a farcical one.
Positives:
•Strong social message supporting the transgender community.
•Hero Sri Vishnu’s commendable performance in the transgender role.
Negatives:
•Confusing and awkward screenplay.
•Annoying characters and excessive getups.
•Overly long and exhausting experience.
