Tense situation is prevailing in Jagtial and surrounding areas as follower of senior leader Jeevan Reddy was hacked to death on Tuesday morning. The 58-year-old Ganga Reddy, a close confidant of MLC Jeevan Reddy, was murdered brutally after being hit by a car and later hacked to death.

Ganga Reddy belonged to Jabitapur village in Jagtial constituency and held several party positions in Congress party. As the news of Ganga Reddy’s murder reached, MLC Jeevan Reddy immediately rushed to Jagtial Government Hospital. Angered by the brutal murder, Jeevan Reddy held a protest on Jagtial-Dharmapuri highway.

Moved by the murder of his close associate, Jeevan Reddy expressed severe disappointment over police’s negligence.

“There have been multiple complaints against accused Santosh, who is said to be behind Ganga Reddy’s murder. He is a rowdy sheeter. But why didn’t you arrest till now? How come a Congress worker get murdered in Congrsss Government?” fired Jeevan Reddy speaking to Police personnel, who came to pacify him, while he was on a sit-in protest.

MLC Jeevan Reddy being a senior and powerful leader, holds sway over Jagtial and surrounding constituencies. However a fight for one-upmanship is going on in Jagital between MLC Jeevan Reddy and MLA Sanjay, after latter, who won as MLA from BRS jumped into Congress. It is yet to be ascertained whether Jeevan Reddy’s followers death, is a political murder or done due to personal reasons.
