The central government has given the green light to the Amaravati Railway project, which will link Amaravati to major cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kolkata. This new 57 km railway line will cost Rs 2,245 crore and includes a 3.2 km bridge over the Krishna River.
The railway line will directly connect Andhra Pradesh Captial City Amaravati and improve transportation between southern India and the rest of the country. It will pass through key districts such as Vijayawada, Guntur, and Krishna.
The project is expected to generate 19 lakh man-days of employment and will involve the planting of 25 lakh trees to help combat pollution. The railway line is set to be completed in four years.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving the project, stating that it will enhance connectivity and create job opportunities for people in the state.
The approval of the Amaravati Railway project is part of the central government’s push to enhance railway infrastructure. Other projects in Andhra Pradesh, such as a six-lane elevated corridor, have also received approval.
