Registration Changes
New property registration rates will come into effect across Andhra Pradesh starting December 1, 2024, as announced by state officials. The government is planning a structured revision of registration values, with increases expected to range from 10% to 20%.
Rate Adjustments
The revision will be based on corridor growth, national highway proximity, local development, and current market conditions. Some areas may see reduced rates where current values exceed market prices, according to Revenue Minister Anagani Satyaprasad.
Revenue Impact
The state collected Rs. 10,005 crores from registrations in 2023-24. In the current fiscal year, collections have reached Rs. 5,235.31 crores as of October 24.
Modernization Efforts
The government is implementing paperless administration and planning an online slot booking system. The traditional red cloths at sub-registrar offices have been removed, marking an end to British-era practices.
Stamp Paper Availability
Officials have assured adequate stamp paper supply across sub-registrar offices. Both e-stamping services and physical stamp papers of Rs. 50 and Rs. 100 denominations will be available for registrations.
Implementation Process
Special committees at the district level are reviewing registration values. The government aims to make registration processes more citizen-friendly while ensuring fair market values across urban and rural areas. A final detailed announcement is expected after AP Chief Minister’s approval.
