Telugu360 Rating: 2.5/5
Several young and new actors are testing their luck in Telugu cinema. A heap of small films are releasing every week. Chetan Maddineni has tested his luck as an actor in the past. This time he came up with a strong technical team and a budget that is beyond his market. The film is titled Dhoom Dhaam and it has several prominent Telugu actors in supporting roles. Sai Kishor Macha is the director and MS Ramkumar is the producer. Dhoom Dhaam released today and here is the review of the film:
Analysis:
Ramaraju (Sai Kumar) and Karthik (Chetan Krishna) are father and son. They love each other so much. Rama Raju dreams of seeing his son in the top slot in all the fields. Karthik too is a responsible and disciplined son. An Astrologer hints that a girl comes into their lives and this triggers differences between the father and son. Suhana (Hebah Patel) comes into Karthik’s life and the rest of the film is all about the hurdles Karthik faces and how he wins his love.
Analysis:
Dhoom Dhaam is a film that is layered with several stories. The director starts the film narrating about the father and son. Soon, the film turns into a typical love story and it sounds like a women-centric film. The film then turns into a triangular love story and soon Dhoom Dhaam returns back to a village story that is packed with action. The real plot unfolds in the village and the crucial episode is narrated on a simple note. The first half ends on a decent note.
The second half starts on a colorful note and the marriage episode is thoroughly entertaining. Vennala Kishore is the major highlight of the episode and his expression dialogue is entertaining. All the other characters in the episode generated enough fun. The second half is completely passable without any twists and turns. Senior writer Gopi Mohan penned the script and the episodes sounded like those of Srinu Vaitla’s films. The drinking scene was good and it reminded of the drinking scenes in Srinu Vaitla’s films. The Europe episode should have been better. Most of the scenes are predictable but the second half sounds decent.
Performances:
Chetan Krishna is good on screen and he should work on his expressions. Hebah Patel is a misfire as the leading lady in Dhoom Dhaam. Vennela Kishore is the major highlight of Dhoom Dhaam and he impresses with his comic timing. Sai Kumar is good as a caring father and he did his part well. Goparaju Ramana takes the major marks among the Bhupathi brothers. Giridhar and Benarjee’s roles are surprises in the second half. The film has several actors like Praveen, Naveen, Sai Srinivas and others.
Dhoom Dhaam is a film that is strong technically. Gopi Sundar’s music is refreshing and all the songs are good. They are well shot. The lyrics are filled with Telugu words. Sangeet song is a treat for masses. The cinematography work is good. The production values are very grand and the producer has to be appreciated. An episode along with three songs are shot in Europe. Dhoom Dhaam makes a decent one time watch if you enter the theatre without any expectations.
