In a big boost to Hyderabad IT sector, software major Infosys has decided to expand its operations in Hyderabad. Infosys Limited Group CFO Jayesh Sanghrajka met Telangana IT and Industries Minister in Davos during World Economic Forum meet on Thursday and announced about the expansion plans.
According to the information provided by Telangana IT Ministry, Infosys has decided to expand its campus located in Pocharam. Pocharam is a suburb falling in the outskirts of Hyderabad on the eastern side.
Infosys Pocharam campus has distinction, as it is one of the few software campuses operating on the eastern side of Hyderabad, while majority of the IT activity is happening in the uber-premium West Hyderabad locality.
Telangana Government has promoted east Hyderabad as an alternative destination to West Hyderabad to prevent congestion and control skyrocketing real estate prices in West Hyderabad. Narayana Murthy-founded-Infosys was one of the major IT players who set up shop in East Hyderabad region, giving support to Telangana Government’s idea.
The proposed new IT Towers in already existing Infosys SEZ at Pocharam will be completed in the next two to three years, with an outlay of Rs 750 Cr.
