BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha got hit with another big blow, as her name sprang up in Kerala liquor scam allegations. More than the substance of the allegations, the timing of the allegations, does her irreparable damage.
After getting arrested in Delhi Liquor Policy scam in March 2024, K Kavitha got released in August, 2024. Her five month-stay in jail has taken a toll on her health and also badly damaged her political image.
After releasing from jail, Kalvakuntla Kavitha maintained a low profile for few months. After recuperating from health related issues, she started to rebuild her image by raising BC issues. She even conducted a BCs meeting to regain her lost political touch.
Now, at a time, when Kalvakuntla Kavitha appeared to be getting active again in Telangana politics, the allegations of her involvement in Liquor Policy irregularities in Kerala sprang up.
Leader of Opposition in Kerala Assembly VD Satheeshan alleged that Telangana MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha visited Kerala and held negotiations with Pinarayi Vijayan Govt to get Liquor Policy amended to benefit Oasis Commercial Pvt Ltd.
Oasis has set up a brewery and distillery in Elapully in Kerala, against the local people’s opinion. VD Satheeshan alleged Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s involvement in Kerala Liquor Policy irregularities, demanding a probe.
While Delhi Liquor scam involvement has already badly damaged Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s personality, presenting her as the corrupt politician who misused her father’s power, latest allegations will deal a death blow to her hopes of image revival.
