Allu Aravind happens to be the most experienced Telugu film producer. His latest production Thandel has seen huge hard work and money spent. Over two years are completely spent and the film is hitting the screens this Friday. Allu Aravind is extremely confident on the output and he is promoting the film. In an interview, Allu Aravind spoke about the OTT deals and how producers are burning their pockets believing that the OTT deals are easy to close. He revealed that Thandel is double the budget of Naga Chaitanya’s costliest attempt from the past.
“Expecting money from OTT is gone. Believing OTT and getting half of the money from OTT is gone. I am saying on the record. I know Netflix, Amazon and other digital players. They are quite choosy and they are not buying every film. There are certain privileges for the producers who are delivering continuous hits. The OTT players are giving respect to these banners and they are paying more for them. Many Telugu producers have started their films believing in the OTTs. They are struck halfway through and burnt their fingers. We have sold Thandel for Netflix three months after the production started. There are 2-3 bigger films which are being made in Telugu and they are waiting for an OTT deal, complete the shoot and release their film” told Allu Aravind.
