The inquiry into the alleged threats and intimidation faced by Dastagiri, an approver in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case, concluded at Kadapa Jail. Dastagiri was questioned for three hours by Rahul Srisram, the inquiry officer. Speaking to the media after the inquiry, Dastagiri expressed hope that the case would soon reach its conclusion and urged Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to expedite the process.
Dastagiri raised questions about YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s absence from court proceedings in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case. He alleged that Jagan, one of the accused, had not appeared in court despite being implicated in the case. Dastagiri also accused Jagan of using his media outlets to defame him, referring to him as a “Narakasura” . He asserted that the truth behind the murder would soon come to light and expressed confidence that the ongoing investigation would be completed shortly.
Threats and Intimidation in Jail
Dastagiri’s complaint about being threatened and pressured in Kadapa Jail prompted the government to order an inquiry. Rahul, the Superintendent of Rajamahendravaram Central Jail, was appointed as the inquiry officer. During the questioning, Dastagiri detailed the alleged intimidation he faced. The inquiry may also involve Dr. Chaitanya Reddy and Jail Superintendent Prakash, who are expected to be questioned soon.
Based on Dastagiri’s complaint, a case has been registered against four individuals, including Dr. Chaitanya Reddy, Kadapa Jail Superintendent Prakash, and two police officers. They face charges of illegal confinement, criminal intimidation, intentional harm, and coercion to provide false evidence. The investigation is progressing, and further developments are expected soon.
