Filmmaker Karan Johar stated that the key to the success of blockbuster films in Indian cinema is the director’s strong belief in their work, rather than the logical plausibility of the story. He cited examples of recent hit movies like Animal, RRR, and Gadar, where the directors’ unwavering conviction in their vision was more important than adhering to strict logic. Johar explained that when a filmmaker like S.S. Rajamouli, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, or Anil Sharma fully believes in their work, the audience is also willing to accept even the most extraordinary events portrayed on screen. He argued that logic often takes a backseat in these highly successful films, as the audience is captivated by the director’s sheer conviction in their storytelling.

The filmmaker emphasized that conviction is the essential factor shared by these films. Regarding his work, Karan Johar has several upcoming productions under Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment. He also plans to return to directing an intense action drama, which he announced a few years ago on his 50th birthday.
