Andhra Pradesh Human Resources Development Minister Nara Lokesh came in defence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Government on three-language formula. At a time Tamil Nadu and some other states are trying to use three language formula to mount political attack on BJP and spreading hatred against Hindi language, the powerful Minister from south Indian state defending it, comes as a big relief for both NDA Govt at Centre and BJP.
Nara Lokesh, who is overseeing Education Ministry expressed confidence that Centre will not impose Hindi blindly and stressed on the need for multi-language and multi-culturalism in India.
“India is a land of multi languages and multi cultures. I don’t think Centre will impose Hindi on states. No one can impose anything in India against people’s opinions. In fact when I met Union Education Minister, once he asked me to promote Telugu in AP,” said Nara Lokesh speaking at India Today conclave.
Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Nara Lokesh pointed out that even he is good in Hindi and can speak the language well.
“In fact not just three languages, in AP we are even teaching foreign languages German and Japanaese. Skill development is under my Ministry and I myself have inked an agreement with training organizations to teach German and Japanese to job aspirants in AP, as opportunities are opening up in those nations,” further explained Nara Lokesh, stressing on the need for learning multiple languages in today’s world.
When Rajdeep Sardesai specifically raised the issue of MK Stalin opposing NDA Govt on Hindi and delimitation and trying to build a coalition of south Indian states, AP Minister clearly stressed that he is on the side of NDA and not going to support Tamil Nadu CM.
Nara Lokesh expressed confidence on PM Modi Govt even on delimitation, hinting that Centre may not take any step in haste which will harm south states interests and alleged that some politicians are just trying to rake up these issues with ulterior motives.
