Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka presented Rs 3,04,965 Cr Budget for FY 2025-26. The highlight of Congress Government’s Budget is, inspite of severe financial crunch, ample allocations were made to fulfil poll promises and welfare schemes.
According to the Budget presented by Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, revenue expenditure stood at Rs 2,26,982 Cr. Capital expenditure was pegged at Rs 36,504 Cr.
“Inspite of several financial limitations we are fulfilling all our promises and focusing on all round development of Telangana by balancing welfare and development. Also we are ensuring balance of both short term needs and long term goals for the vibrant future of Telangana,” said Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, presenting Budget FY 2025-26 in the Assembly on Wednesday.
The unique feature of Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka’s Budget is the large scale allocations made for the poll promises and welfare schemes.
Here are some of the major allocations made towards welfare schemes:
Rs 56,084 Cr have been allotted to fulfil the six poll promises made by Congress during Assembly elections.
Rs 18,000 Cr have been allotted to Rythu Bharosa, the DBT scheme aimed at farmers welfare.
Besides giving Rythu Bharosa, Revanth Reddy Govt is offering Rs 500 bonus per quintal on fine paddy (sanna biyyam). Rs 1,800 Cr have been allocated for this purpose.
Rs 14,861 Cr have been allotted towards Cheyutha pensions.
Rs 6,000 Cr towards newly launched Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme, which offers subsidized loans for young entrepreneurs.
RS 4,305 cr towards Mahalakshmi scheme, which provides free travel for women in TGRTC buses.
Rs 2,080 Cr towards Gruhajyothi scheme, which offers free power up to 200 units for eligible households in the state.
Rs 723 Cr towards gas cylinder subsidy for the eligible households.
Rs 600 Cr towards Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa, which offers support through DBT route to tenant farmers.
