Protagonist of Kapu Reservation movement Mudragada Padmanabham called of the impromptu Rasta Roko he called this afternoon in Tuni. Around 10.15 pm, after an unprecedented violence in the town,he said the Rasta Roko was ended. He was unhappy at what had happened during the Rasta Roko and the attitude of certain leaders at the Kapu Ikhya Garjana he held this morning ,demanding BC status to Kapus.
He said the movement had been called off only to give some time to the government to announce the reservations to Kapus. ” I will wait till tomorrow evening and if there is no action from the government I will sit on indefinite fast,” he declared to the huge gathering of Kapus.
According to police, the situation is under control and it is limping to normality. The national highway has been cleared and vehicular traffic has been restored. Similarly, green signal has been given to trains that stranded at various stations in Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
