After the violent turnout of the “kapu aikya garjana” under the leadership of ex minister and a kapu community person, Mudragada Padmanabham, the AP state government has imposed Section 144 in various parts of the state and has restored normalcy for now.
Still the people of AP are unable to come out of shock and fear of such unimaginable acts committed by some miscreants who attended the meeting at Tuni in East godavari district which is usually known for its peace and tranquillity.
Under this circumstance, movie actor Pavan kalyan , who also hails from the same community has organized a press meet to convey his message. His unequivocal stance regarding his support to integrity of nation and people’s well being placed higher than caste needs to be appreciated. He also condemned the violence by the miscreants .
However, he questioned the failure of government in assessing the impending danger and providing proper transport and security facilities for the meeting attendees. Here, he needs to know that even world’s top intelligence agencies like CIA and FBI failed to predict the 9/11 attacks on twin towers in NY,USA.So probably, it is an over estimate of AP intelligence bureau to predict such ghastly turn out of events.
Of course , the fact that the meeting was announced way before hand and the strategic location of Tuni as transport junction should have been indicators to them. However, too much clamping of the meeting by police force would only bring in more criticism and frustration from the organizers.
Besides, it is no benevolent meeting to provide all facilities to meeting attendees. In fact such kind of gatherings should not be given permission in such large numbers.
Coincidentally, the very logo of the meeting had fire in it, which might have meant the intent to involve in arsenal and burning of public property was already on the minds of the organizers.
Also Pavan ‘s statement that problem wouldn’t have arised if the government spoke to the community leaders. He is probably very well aware that the government is all ears to the community and is appeasing it’s leaders by announcing plum posts to them and also a grant of 100 crore as special corpus fund.
While Pavan ‘s reaction has certain takeaways, his brother Chiranjeevi has written a hotshot letter to CBN saying that more such incidents would occur if government functioned with anti people policy.
It is an open fact that Chiranjeevi himself resorted to collecting money from party ticket aspirants , lost in elections in his own native place and has amassed huge wealth by resorting to hoodwinking the innocent fans and his own community members who saw a messiah in him.
He had dissolved his ‘”praja rajyam” party shamelessly and hopped onto the corrupt congress party. He enjoyed plush ministry of tourism and bungalows in Delhi and did little for the state. He needs to know that first his own fans and community would beat him up for resorting to such characterless acts.
Chief Minster of AP,CBN has shown restraint and carefulness in not antagonizing the Kapu community by throwing blame on opposition party.
He has also done a good job by not meeting Mr.Padmanabham as it would send out a signal that violence would be the best means to achieve demands. He is playing it safe by citing the BC ‘S prospectives and some committees.
Such violent acts should not be the means to achieve the demands in a civil society.
