YSR Congress has demanded TDP government to announce an action plan for the implementation of reservations to Kapus and inclusion of Kapu caste in the BC list.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday party party spokesperson and noted Kapu leader Botsa Satyanarayana said it was unfortunate that Venkata Ramana Murthy had to commit suicide at Kakinada for the Kapu cause.
‘Why did the Chandrababu Naidu or his party not react to the unfortunate incident which was the result of the faulty of policies of the TDP government? The state has the moral responsibility to give an explanation to the questions raised by Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham,”he said.
“When YSRC leders go to express solidarity with him, Chandrababu Naidu accuses us of politicizing the party. The same Chandrababu Naidu had met the same Kapu leader on an earlier occasion on the same issue which shows he double standards,’ he said.
The issue did not crop up overnight as the Kapu leader had been raising the issue for the past four months and TDP is trying to politicize the issue.
‘It was TDP which resorted to criminalization of politics and Kapu leader was murdered in Vijayawada and the then Home Minister Kodela Siva Prasad Rao was accused and NTR had asked him to quit,’ he said.
