CPI national secretary Narayana, who is known for his teasing comments, questioned the logic of Kapu leader Mudragada Padmanabham asking his wife too to go on indefinite fast along with him.
It looked as if the Kapu leader was promoting Sati, he said. He questioned what way she was connected to the Kapu cause.
Regarding chief minister Naidus’ assurances to Kapus on BC status, the CPI veteran said Naidu was inviting troubles by assuring everything to everybody unmindful of whether they are implementable or not.
” Naidu knows pretty well that according BC status of Kapus is not possible. Still he is assuring BC status and reservations Kapus,” he said. Talking to media in Chennai, Narayana opined that election commission should think of taking action against the parties that give irrational assurances during poll time and fail to honor them later.
He alleged that Naidu was creating caste tensions in Andhra Pradesh. Narayana did not spare Jana Sena president and movie star Pawan Kalyan either. Taking potshots at the Jana Sena leader, he said the stand taken by Pawan Kalyan on Kapu reservation issue was meaningless. He felt that Pawan was committing a blunder by extending support to Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. He dubbed Pawan was a political Sikhandi.
