Andhra Pradesh has increased the area of proposed interim secretariat complex from 20 acres to 45 acres. The complex is proposed to be built near Velagapudi and Malkapuram villages. Government has directed various Departments to pay monthly lease rentals from their budgetary grant to APCRDA. After construction, various Departments will be allocated required space on pre-decided monthly rental basis which will be paid to APCRDA. However, later on February 3, 2016 the government changed the location from Amaravati Township to Velagapudi and Malkapuram Villages. After some time, the CRDA Commissioner, informed the government that the total extent required is estimated at Ac. 45.129 cents out of which 24.082 ac. would be for Interim Government Complex and 18.047 ac for Public facilities.
