Opposition leader and YSRC president Jaganmohan Reddy asked chief minister Chandrababu Naidu if he was ready to seek people’s verdict on his government.
According to Jagan all sections of people were fed up with Naidu and to know the extent of resentment, Naidu could dissolve the government and seek people’s mandate.
“We are sure we will win. If Naidu wins, he could again become the chief minister,” he said.
Expressing annoyance at the reporters’ questions about the TDPs talk of possible defection of YSRC MLAs to Telugu Desam, Jagan stoutly denied the reports.
” Let Naidu tell who are joining the TDP. Would anybody join a sinking boat? He has been telling public that YSRC MLAs will join the TDP and our MLAs routinely deny it and ,” he said.
Jagan further alleged that the CM was putting extreme pressure on the ministers to get YSRC MLAs into TDP. ” Even in the cabinet, the CM had admonished ministers for they were not able to ‘buy ‘ the MLAs. The CM had asked the ministers to learn from KCR and KTR the tricks of poaching on other party’s MLAs,” he said.
When reporters asked him was it true that 21 TDP MLAs were in touch with him, Jagan said,” I won’t tell the number- how many are in touch with us or how many would join our party. We will tell you when the time is appropriate and topple the government in the very next hour.”
Jagan spoke to media after lodging complaint with the Governor ESL Narasimhan against the chief minister for “making baseless charges” against YSRCP following torching of train in Tuni last month.
Referring to the Tuni incident Jagan said the CM was misguiding the people with wild allegations to cover up the mistakes he committed. ” The government had not thought of the railway track when it was giving permission to the Kapu Garjana in Tuni. Was it not CM’s responsibility to think of security when allowing the public meeting in close proximity of the railway track,” Jagan asked.
On other issues the YSRC delegation discussed with the governor the opposition leader said they had brought the delay in constituting the tribal advisory board to the notice of the government. ” Naidu is worried that six of the seven Tribal
MLAs in the state are from YSRC This the reason for the delay,” he accused.
They also urged the governor to stop the Palamur-Rangareddy lift Irrigation project being taken up in Telangan. This would deny the Krishna water to entire Rayalaseema, he said.
